Grimsby seafood giant Icelandic Seachill -- part of Icelandic Group – finally shut down its ready meal division last weekend, after announcing the move in February, resulting in 200 job losses.
Last orders passed through the production lines at the weekend at the South Humberside Industrial Estate facility, where it was revealed profits had never been made in the niche area, which served the likes of Marks and Spencer and Asda, as well as other high street names.
"We have worked hard to redeploy people and the upshot is that there will be fewer than 200 jobs lost.
