The investors, which include Jon Runar Halldorsson, Gudjon Davidsson, Sigurdur Petursson and Gudmundur Stefansson, purchased an 85 percent share of the company for an undisclosed sum in mid-April, according to Icelandic bank Landsbanki, which financed the deal.

Proryb, based in Rumia, Poland, is one of the oldest private seafood manufacturers in Poland, focusing primarily on smoked, pickled and delicatessen products using pelagic fish.

Hinrik Bjarnason, head of the international seafood team at Landsbanki, said he sees “major opportunities” for the company, given its strong brand, good relationship with major retailers and a location suitable for distribution into Poland, Germany and France.
