Icelandic Group has established subsidiary company, Iceland Sustainable Fisheries, to manage the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification it was awarded last April for haddock and cod fisheries in Icelandic waters.
Icelandic Group has decided to open this certification to other parties, as long as certain criteria are met.
"It is a nonprofit entity to maintain and manage the MSC certificates of cod and haddock around Iceland. This is more practical for Icelandic Group than having this within the group once a decision was made to open the certification to other parties,” Larus Asgeirsson, CEO of Icelandic Group, told IntraFish.
“This
