As reported last week by IntraFish (see 'Hydro Seafood becomes Marine Harvest' published 1.02.2001) the non-UK part of Hydro Seafood has changed its name to Marine Harvest. This reflects the formal acquisition by Nutreco Aquaculture of the Hydro Seafood operations in Norway, Ireland and France, as the newly-acquired operations have been merged with another Nutreco subsidiary, Marine Harvest.
Thus, the Irish operation formerly known as Hydro Seafood Fanad is now known simply as 'Marine Harvest'.
However, the UK authorities blocked the acquisition of Hydro Seafood's UK subsidiary, Hydro Seafood GSP.
