Pangasius exporter Hung Vuong’s third quarter sales inched down by 3 percent to VND 2,100 billion (€78.4 million/$100.8 million), while its profit after tax plunged by 25 percent to VND 104 billion (€3.9 million/$5 million).
A sluggish performance in the first nine months of 2012 has led the company to adjust its year-end targets and lower its 2012 export volume to 100,000 metric tons and its profit before tax to VND 450 billion (€16.8 million/$21.6 million).
In the first nine months of 2012, Hung Vuong’s export volume remained flat at 71,000 metric tons, a figure that includes exports from its subsidiaries such as Agifish, which focuses on selling to the US market.
