The council sent a letter to the newspaper, in which it accuses reporter William Broad of failing to seek out both sides of the story on the hoki fishery.
"I found it striking that Mr. Broad found space in his article to quote or interview four different environmental activist sources, yet didn’t bother to contact anyone working in the New Zealand Seafood Industry to get our view on the current health of the hoki stocks," said the letter, written by Eric McErlain of CounterPoint Strategies, which has the council as a client.
