As of Sept. 30, the U.S. imported 176.9 million kilograms of salmon, down from 181.4 million kilos in the first nine months of last year. Value of the 2010 shipments is $1.37 billion (€997.2 million), up from $1.26 billion (€917.1 million) last year.

Norway increased its shipments of fresh Atlantic fillets from 13 million kilos worth $115.4 million (€84 million) in 2009 to 18.8 million kilos and $195.6 million (€142.4 million) this year, according to the latest numbers from the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).
