“We see an increase of a NOK 2 (€0.23/$0.33). The reason is that there has been little shortage of fish at the end of the week. It drives the prices up,” Hakon Asvang of Bravo Seafood told IntraFish. “Demand is improving as in the industry in the EU is processing it again.”

Andreas Ellingsen of Ellingsen Seafood confirmed the rise, telling IntraFish the fact the industry is back from holiday caused the increase.

“Most people expect a price increase,” Ellingsen said.

IntraFish spoke to three other players in the industry, and all said prices are headed up.
