With a final decision looming on Russia's Sea of Okhotsk pollock fishery's Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, companies using pollock are trying to sort out what, if any, implications certification may have for the market.
While European processors have been clear in their feelings about the development, it's a somewhat less important issue for US processing companies, most of whom do not carry the MSC logo on their packs, or mention in any literature or on websites that the fish they use has a big eco-label thumbs up.
