The Kansas City Star reported recently although U.S. consumers are buying a growing amount of fish oil capsules from China, they don't know that because of timid regulators and weak labeling laws.
Opinion polls show consumers want to know the countries involved in producing a product, especially China, with its poor reputation for product safety and quality.
After the article, Harold Olsen of Overland Park, who takes fish oil, said, "If it is from China, I don't want it. We should be able to find that out."
