It's no surprise: the Grimsby market has seen a decline in recent years.

Whereas it used to see 7,000 50 kilogram boxes of fish on a Monday alone, it now sees 7,000 boxes in a week, a result of an increase of domestic processing in Iceland, and the ease of processors receiving fish directly to their premises.

However, Steve Norton, CEO of the Fish Merchants Association, believes the market is still important, highlighted by the £2.5 million (€3.2 million/$4.1 million) invested into the market since 2012.
