Grieg Seafood CEO Morten Vike gave the impression of being unimpressed by the Scottish Salmon Producer Organisation's (SSPO's) decision to suspend membership of its UK subsidiary, after it imported more than one million smolt from Norway, without subjecting it to a quarantine of three months.
"This SSPO decision is not a big deal for us," he told IntraFish. "What we have done is completely in line with legislation and veterinary regulations both in Scotland, the European Union [EU] and in Norway -- so it's completely legal."
