Standing where speeches were being made and prizes handed out during the opening ceremony, the demonstrators stood in silence, wearing T-shirts that said: "Trawler fishing, destruction,” and holding banners saying: “Halt to trawler fishing.”
One of the protesters told IntraFish the aim of this demonstration is to draw the attention of businessmen and the authorities to the pillaging of the seas, which they want to try and stop.
Police eventually removed the demonstrators.
