Greenland saw a drop in both the value and volume of landings for the first six months of 2014, according to new figures released by Statistics Greenland.

In total, 50,552 metric tons were landed, compared to 55,381 metric tons for the same period the year before.

The total value for the period also dropped to DKK 413.2 million (€53.7 million/$70.2 million) from DKK 420.4 million (€54.7 million/$71.5 million).

Poor value of shellfish was thought to be the reason for the decrease, dropping to DKK 173.5
