According to Irish press reports, Green Isle will close the Boyle-based factory in September and move production to the United Kingdom, a move Green Isle Managing Director Keiran Carolan said is aimed at maintaining Green Isle's "leadership position in the highly competitive frozen fish market place."
The announcement, made Friday, followed an "extensive review" of Green Isle's fish business, Carolan said.
"The fish business continues to be successful, employing over 120 people in Ireland," Carolan was quoted as saying by RTE Business.
