World commercial fishery landings and aquaculture production came out to 163 million metric tons in 2013—an increase of 3 percent, year-on-year. Fishery landings increased by 1.3 million tons compared to 2012.
China was the leading nation in both fishery landings and aquaculture production accounting for 37 percent of the total harvest. Indonesia came in second with 6 percent, followed by India with just under 6 percent. Vietnam and Peru, both with 4 percent each. United States came in sixth with 3 percent.
