Buyers of Alaska pollock in Germany are not surprised about this week's news that Intertek Moody International was sending back portions of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) assessment of a pending certification of Russia's Sea of Okhotsk pollock fishery.
Guido Worch, quality manager at German frozen firm Bofrost, who voiced his skepticism over its success also ahead of the decision, said, "it was expected."
One will have to "wait and see" what happens next, he told IntraFish, adding it could be a long-winded process.
