US-based Galveston Shrimp Co., a subsidiary of Oregon-based seafood giant Pacific Seafood, is working its way out of a voluntary recall it issued Monday for  its pre-packaged Texas Gulf shrimp because of a piece of metal found in one bag.

The voluntary recall involves 35,000 pounds of shrimp, all shipped to Texas-based HEB supermarkets, company President Nello Cassarino told IntraFish on Tuesday.

The piece of metal – a nail – was detected by a HEB store manager, who notified the company’s central procurement office.
