Pan Fish announced Wednesday it will divest Pan Fish Scotland during 2007 as part of a deal to win approval for its merger with Marine Harvest from the French Ministry of the Economy.
French authorities expressed concerns about the Norwegian company’s market power.
A spokesperson at the U.K. Competition Commission told IntraFish the French ruling is being scrutinized to see whether it “sheds any further light on the case.”
A final U.K. ruling on the Pan Fish-Marine Harvest merger is due Dec. 20.
