Marcel Baey, an old-established Boulogne seafood supplier that has seen an extensive facelift since being taken over by new ownership in the last few years, is known mainly for its sales to the catering business, said its Gilles le Tourmy (pictured).
Some of its products have been recently attracted the respected Saveur de l’Annee label, under which various foodstuffs are tested, tasted and evaluated with no packaging or indication of where they are made.
This is an important step, le Tourmy told IntraFish, as it is telling the company’s staff that they are doing a good job and, just as importantly, telling hypermarkets what the company is capable of.
