Although the overall market grew 13.7 percent, Findus saw the biggest growth with the release of its Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-labeled Alaska salmon fish fingers.
“Findus’ fish fingers now have a 46.5 percent of the market, with salmon taking a 10 percent point share,” Managing Director Matthieu Lambeaux told IntraFish.
This sort of success following the launch of one product was "unheard of," he said.
"A successful launch would normally see the share go up 2 or 3 percent," Lambeaux said.
Although sales across the sector were up, Findus' competitors saw their market shares decline.
