Fredriksen, Leroy acquire $3.1 million in Marine Harvest shares

Marine Harvest majority owner Geveran Trading and Chairman Ole-Eirik Leroy on Tuesday increased their holdings in Marine Harvest by 3 million shares worth NOK 17.8 million ($3.1 million/€2.3 million).

Geveran's holds 28.57 percent of the total outstanding shares in the company following the acquisition, worth NOK 6.4 billion ($1.1 billion/€829 million). Leroy's shareholding following the transaction is 1.1 percent, or NOK 4.2 billion ($7.3 million/€5.4 million).

The move may be a sign of simply showing "confidence and commitment," in light of the ongoing bidding process for Cermaq, one analyst covering the companies told IntraFish.
