"The closure is unfortunate," Donnelly, who left the company late last year to open a restaurant, Toulouse, in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood, told the Seattle Times. "I think they made some very poor decisions."
Minnesota-based Oceanaire closed four restaurants, including the one in Seattle, as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in Texas.
Another former executive chef at the Seattle Oceanaire, Kevin Davis, told the newspaper an infusion of venture capital money created a layer of administrative and accounting bureaucracy that stifled creativity of chefs who understood the concept.
