UK retailer WM Morrison Supermarkets confirmed it will set up a fish plant in Grimsby, to be headed up by former Cumbrian Seafoods managing director Howard Sims.
The company will be acquiring an empty factory in Grimsby -- formerly owned by Kwok Foods -- and equipping it for seafood production by the end of 2012, as reported byIntraFish on Feb. 29.
Morrisons has recruited industry executives to lead the business such as Frank Green, who was appointed head of seafood trading for Morrisons in January and was previously at Cumbrian Seafoods, now part of Young’s Seafood.
