The CEO of Houston, Texas-based Omega Protein, one of the world's largest fishmeal harvesters and processors, will join the presenting lineup at the IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum on May 23 at the W Hotel in New York City.

Omega Protein, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), is coming off a strong 2016 that saw the company post record gross profits.

The company's revenues rose 9 percent to $390.8 million (€371.2 million) compared to the year prior, due to a $42.4 million (€40.3 million) increase in animal nutrition revenues, particularly fueled by a 63 percent increase in fish oil sales and a 14 percent increase in fishmeal sales.

Omega Protein CEO Bret Scholtes will provide attendees of the IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum a look into the fishmeal and oil sector, as well as into Omega Protein's recent successes.

This IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum -- now in its 7th year -- has been a springboard for many key conversations that have led, ultimately, to some of the biggest deals in seafood.

This year's event, brought to you together with Pareto Securities, takes place May 23 in New York City. Presenters include Cargill, Bakkafrost, Omega Protein, Akva Group, Marine Harvest, AquaChile, Benchmark and more.
