Fishmeal and oil replacement is inevitable, but it is also crucial to maintain balance in selected raw materials, said Dagoberto Sanchez, R&D consultant at Novus International.
Sanchez was one of the presenters at a webinar organized by feed manufacturer Novus International on Oct. 24.
"There is also a need for using additives to maintain performance," Sanchez said, after pointing out the fishmeal percentage in aquatic feed will decrease from 10 percent in 2010 to 6 percent by 2020.
"It is not just about the price of fishmeal, but concentration of fishmeal in aquatic feed as well," he said.
