A new three-part series of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's Fish Fight/Save our Seas campaign is due to be screened Thursday in the United Kingdom -- and includes an attack on scallop dredging.

The series will also campaign for more marine protected areas, not just around UK waters but on a global basis.

Fearnley-Whittingstall hit the headlines over a year ago with his first Fish Fight campaign, which exposed how quotas create discards in mixed fisheries. Fishermen initially welcomed the publicity, but many are now less enthusiastic after the massive public and political reaction has led to proposals for a complete ban on discards in the reformed Common Fisheries Policy (CFP).
