“We’ll more than willingly cleanse to an even stricter requirement if the authorities tell us that’s the way it has to be,” Kjell Bjordal, CEO of feed company Ewos, told IntraFish. “It’s a question of how many times cleaner we have to make the farmed fish compared to other seafood. Farmed salmon is currently the fish with the lowest levels of PCB and dioxin values. Farmed salmon has for example only 5 [percent to] 10 percent of the values we find in wild salmon and other fatty fish in neighboring countries.
