In a small town in the midst of rural Poland, three-four hours’ drive east of Warsaw and just by the border to Belarus lies Suempol’s smokehouse.
Poland’s second largest smoker after Morpol, Suempol was the first company to process Norwegian salmon in Poland when it started off in 1992.
The factory’s history dates back to 1989. At that time the communist government allowed the creation of private enterprises, but the reforms came too late -- for the regime.
The founders were a married couple, Ursula and Edward Siecinski.
