As the first harvest from the ‘Namgis land-based salmon farm hits Safeway shelves, its suppler to the Canadian retailer says its selling faster than they grow it.

Albion Fisheries Vice President Guy Dean told The Vancouver Sun the demand for new land-based farmed salmon is exceeding the supply.

“Although still very early, interest and positive feedback are phenomenal,” he told the news agency. “We are being contacted by potential distributors from all over North America.”
