Firda says its operating profit reached NOK 102.6 million (€13 million/$17.1 million) last year, compared with NOK 33.5 million (€4.2 million/$5.6 million) in 2008.
This was thanks to strong market prices and a drop in the disease rate, which together helped offset an 8 percent decline in slaughtering volume.
Firda’s result before tax similarly rose by 242 percent to NOK 100.9 million (€12.8 million/$16.8 million), while group revenue increased by a modest 13.5 percent to NOK 394.3 million (€50 million/$65.9 million).
Based in western Norway, Firda is an integrated producer of salmon and trout.
