The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sent several warning letters last month.
The FDA told Director/Owner Benony Thorhallsson the FDA's September inspection of his Icelandic seafood processing facility, Besa ehf, showed the company did not adequately address previous issues: HACCP plans for cod fish fillets, sample of sanitation monitoring records and product labeling."
The FDA also sent a letter to Chien Chen Wang, owner of Brooklyn-based WD Import and Export, Inc. due to "serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation" at his seafood importer establishment, particularly related to dried silver fish imports.
