Faroe Islands Prime Minister Joannes Eidesgaard led a delegation to India earlier this month, and discussed potential areas of cooperation in seafood processing, the newspaper reported.
The Faroe delegation visited India's Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), and discussed how the Faroese might make use of India's unused processing capacity, and how the two countries might cooperate on tuna fishing and deep-sea trawling.
The MPEDA estimates only 20 percent of India's processing capacity is being used, and some 200,000 metric tons of tuna remains unexploited in its waters.
