Until two years ago, fishing company JFK operated the factory trawler Naeraberg, which was fishing blue whiting and processing it on board to produce surimi.

However, the ship was then recalled by its owners and has been in Croatia being fitted out for fishing krill in the Southern Ocean, and the venture brought to a halt.

However, JFK are keen to get the vessel back on the seas in light of current surimi prices.
