Norway has exported 5,667 metric tons of farmed cod so far this year – a 10 percent drop from 6,289 metric tons in the same period last year, figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council show.
In term of value, however, the drop was much smaller. Exports so far this year totalled NOK 157 million (€20.9 million/$29.2 million), almost stable from NOK 158 million (€21 million/$29.4 million) last year.
This reflects a strong increase in prices. The average price so far this year for whole farmed cod is at NOK 25.21
