Four Norway-based researchers are hoping for funding to start farmingsalmon, as well as other species such as rainbow trout, Arctic char andbarramundi, in China.
The plan is to do this using land based farms, the partners say in theirapplication to Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation(Norad).
The application was filed by Fridrik Sigurdsson, a business consultantat Sintef Bedriftsutvikling, along with three Scandinavian colleagues. Sintef Bedriftsutviklingis part of Sintef, Scandinavia’s largest research organization.
In the proposal, the partners explain that the plan is to finance apilot project this year.
