In 2013, fish feed giant EWOS was sold for NOK 6.5 billion (€708.6 million/$781.9 million) to private equity groups Altor and Bain. In the space of two short years, the price has almost doubled to NOK 12.36 billion (€1.3 billion/$1.5 billion).

Part of the profit is due to the strengthening of the euro against the Norwegian krone in this period. The bid of NOK 6.5 billion (€708.6 million/$781.9 million) in July 2013 meant the value of EWOS at that time was around 820 million euro.
