A fishermen’s organisation has slammed Prime Minister David Cameron’s plans to renegotiate fisheries arrangements with the European Union (EU) ahead of a referendum on Britain’s continued membership of the EU as “moonshine."
The Fishermen’s Association Ltd (FAL) also said if Scotland voted in favor of independence in September’s referendum it could never be genuinely independent if it continued to be a member of the EU.
FAL, which has campaigned for many years for the United Kingdom to pull out of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), rejected the Scottish National Party (SNP) claim that independence would give Scotland a stronger voice in fisheries in the EU.
