The EU Fish Processors and Traders Association (AIPCE-CEP) warned it will be US consumers who suffer, should the newly elected President Donald Trump follow through on his plans to scrap free trade agreements with the EU and Asia.
Throughout his campaign Trump has been outspoken about how he will not continue negotiations in regard to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
“If that is the case that would be disappointing in our view because of the opportunities we see for better trade conditions for seafood both in the USA and in the EU,” Guus Pastoor, president of AIPCE-CEP, told IntraFish.
