The European Fish Processors Association (AIPCE) and European Federation of National Organizations of Importers and Exporters of Fish (CEP) Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) Working Group head Andrew Kuyk called for all industry stakeholders to have a voice for the CFP on Wednesday.

Kuyk said the industry should be included in future consultation arragements for the CFP through the establishment of a new horizontal advisory council.

"Processors and traders are a vital part of the supply chain, adding value, expanding the market and providing quality and convenience for consumers across all member states," Kuyk said.

"As such, we deserve to be represented on an equal basis with other stakeholders in the new advisory council structure which the commission is proposing as part of its CFP reforms.
