The European Union has given €11m to Africa to help with the development of a Pan-African Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy Framework.

The Pan-African programme will complement EU actions in Africa at national and regional levels.

Announcing the aid at a CAMFA meeting at the end of April in Addis Ababa, top EU fisheries official Lowri Evans said sustainable fisheries and aquaculture could play a more important role in national economic development, food and nutrition security all over the world.
