An EU delegation has been in Peru the last few days making inspections whose results will be included in a report on whether Europe should reopen its market to the bivalve mollusk “palabritas” Peru used to export, said Miguel Gallo, president of the management council of the Fisheries Technology Institute (ITP).

There's been work by the public and private sectors to eliminate the negative remarks made by the EU sanitary authorities, who banned “palabritas” in August 2008.

Authorities will be in Peru through Sept.
