EU inspectors will head to Thailand this week to see what progress is being made in the country in regard to human rights violations in the fishing sector, said the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI).
Nick Kightley, ETI's food and farming expert, said Thailand needs to be "focused on long-term reform."
“It is encouraging that shrimp peeling shed activity has reportedly been brought in-house by Thai exporters and with the support of the Thai Frozen Foods Association," he said.
