Charges were brought in a hearing Monday in the first court of Puerto Montt against social assistant Paulo Rojas Ramirez; marine biologist Hernan Espinoza; union leaders Jaime Bustamante and Ricardo Casas; workers Alejandro Tribino, Francisco Mansilla, Pedro Guerrero; and a 17-year-old minor.
All are accused of arson in the May 4 blaze that destroyed SalmonChile's office in Puerto Montt.
The district attorney said 40 percent of the building was gutted by the firem, which started at two points: an access door that was doused with fuel and an incendiary device placed in a backpack that was activated by a light bulb filament.
