“In the clear light of hindsight, we should have seen the drop in prices coming through autumn,” Eide said in the second part of a New Year interview with IntraFish.
Marine Harvest was the first to draw attention to the disease situation and was criticized by other companies that claimed it was being too negative, he said.
“We did not manage to get it in perspective and neither, therefore, did we manage to communicate the full and unmitigated consequences for production volumes and costs,” said Eide.
