The Norwegian leader of free trade agreement negotiations in the EFTA, Lars Erik Nordgaard, said at a seminar held under the auspices of the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) and Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) in Oslo, Nolrway, on Monday top priority is being given to achieving free-trade agreements with China, India, Japan, Russia and Ukraine.

Concrete negotiations are also taking place with Canada, Egypt and Thailand, and negotiations are set to begin this month with Algeria.

“The EFTA is ready to enter into negotiations with Russia and the Ukraine as soon as these two countries have clarified their relationship with the World Trade Organization (WTO)," Nordgaard told IntraFish.
