Perhaps, in two to three years, the matter of eco-labels will be a consumer issue, Redmond said in his keynote address, but "savvy retailers are makjng these decisions today as a point of difference."
Hampering decision-making, Redmond said, is what he called the out-of-kilter debate between the industry, retailers and NGOs.
"The marketplace is willing, is the NGO community ready to provide a solution, or just compete for the same money?" asked Redmond (pictured).
