Kappa Corby Corlon Packaging is producing 25 kilogram salmon base and lid packs made entirely from recycled cardboard, rather than the more usual expanded polystyrene.
Although the factory only employs two people at the moment, the company says that it is optimistic that the operation will expand in the future.
The Kappa Packaging Group is one of the largest containerboard and packaging companies in Europe, employing about 17,000 people. As well as using recycled materials to manufacture the boxes, Kappa also recycle old salmon packaging.
