Eastern Fisheries plans to use all the tools at its disposal, including the New Bedford Scallop Auction, to secure its access to the Atlantic scallop resource this year.

“There will be a dramatic reduction in the sea scallop landings for next season. This is a fact,” Roy Enoksen, the President of Eastern Fisheries, said, referring to the projected 30 percent drop in harvest this year. “At this time we have decided to unload our own boats. We have had a long history with the New Bedford Whaling City Display Auction, and we do not intend on changing that.
