DKSH has recently introduced FOS-certified pangasius filets through its agent Varriale into Multicedi, a retailer operating in the Campania region of Italy.
Multicedi is the first retailer to offer FOS-certified pangasius to consumers in Italy.
“Italy has shown a strong growth in pangasius over the last two years, the focus however was on offering cheap product," Thomas Schefer, area manager for seafood for Europe for DKSH, told IntraFish. “Multicedi is therefore giving a strong signal to the consumers, showing that they are serious about offering products from sustainable sources, even if they are more expensive purchase.”
